PRICKLY PEAR VACATION: WICKENBURG, AZ

Every January, we join our family on a long weekend trip to Rancho de Los Caballeros in Wickenburg, AZ. Mark's family has been visiting this authentic, western dude ranch for years since he was little. It's always a memorable trip and a great way to start off the year with family, riding horses, playing golf, plus lots of hiking and relaxing in nature. Some of our favorite activities at the ranch include long nature walks discovering new plants, cacti, & species native to the Southwest. My favorite part of each year is riding the horses, we go on a "nature ride" for a few hours learning about the history of the land in Wickenburg and all of the animals,...

RECAP: MOJAVE FLEA + PALM SPRINGS

2019 started off with our first ever out-of-state market event, Mojave Flea in Palm Springs. We couldn't pass up this little weekend journey to one of our favorite desert cities and the opportunity to be a part of the makers & merchants featured at The Ace Hotel & Swim Club for the day.  The Ace Hotel was a total dream to stay at for the weekend. The clouds & rain were all the more reason to enjoy little lounges by the fireplace, delicious cocktails at The Amigo Room, music by the pool and heated spa, and a must-stop meal at the King's Highway Diner. Our favorites are the chilaquiles at brunch and Oaxacan Sunrise as a must-have nightcap. Some of our...

Lauren & Mark - Palm Springs Wedding

It's been exactly one year since our Palm Springs Wedding last October and after many requests, we've decided to finally share some photos and details with all of you. We loved the idea of getting married in Palm Springs since we both love the natural beauty of the desert and the California sunshine, plus it was the perfect middle-ground for our families & friends in Arizona and California. So if you've ever wondered what graphic designers/paper store owners (like ourselves) design for their wedding day, we hope you keep on reading!  Mark created our dream invitation suite complete with an illustration of our wedding venue on the back of each invitation and our astrological constellations sprinkled above the horizon line, personalized...

Prickly Pear Vacation: PARIS

We just got back from our honeymoon in Paris! It was our first time visiting the "City of Light" and my first time in Europe. We decided to spend our entire week in Paris to take it all in and not feel rushed to get all the sights in before jetting off to the next country, which I highly recommend! The biggest takeaways from our trip were: wine, cheese, baguettes, croissants, macarons, gardens, architecture, history, culture, and espresso. You get the idea.  The thing we loved most about the city was the beauty of everyday French life. The streets are lined with cafes on every corner, all with equally delicious menus and happy hour can be found almost everywhere. When...

Recap: National Stationery Show 2017

This was our first year attending the National Stationery Show aka NSS! As paper and design enthusiasts it's been a dream of ours to attend this huge show of all stationery and paper goods from around the world. It is held annually in May in New York City.(Fun Fact: New York is our favorite city!) Day 1: When we got in on Saturday we wanted to have a free day enjoying our favorite things about New York...the food, the views, and walking everywhere. Our first stop was this amazing rooftop bar in Chelsea where we were staying for the week, called Rare View Rooftop. It had gorgeous views, and I loved the atmosphere and music. Then we decided to walk...
